The reason they're not bringing this back is probably because the game relied HEAVILY on microtransactions. If Pretendo were to revive this game, how would they get around the payment system?

badge arcade didn't use playcoins. you could get free plays everyday though.

I see no reason they couldn't give unlimited free plays. I think the issue may be the fact that they would have to host the badges on their end, which risks copyright nonsense unless they created their own
Maybe using playcoins instead of real money? But what do I know, I'm just a family guy.
