For those wondering, the Nintendo servers are currently down. It is currently impossible to use the eShop, redownload software, or update anything. We don't know the reason, but just know you can't do those things at this time. Thank you for understanding.

I was able to download a MK8 update 2 days ago.
this could be the end of nintendo network
fully, not just buying games and online play, i mean the END of nintendo network fully, including redownloading
