I would recommend looking into what games you want to play and get the console that will give more value. I have both a 3DS and Wii U but I only play moster hunter on my wii u. I play 3DS way more

Don't get an n2dsxl, they have a bunch of issues other "new" models don't, like higher NAND and FCRAM failure rates
