If you like to take out the SD card frequently while modding it, the New 2DS XL is quicker and doesn't need a screwdriver for access to it. Also is more ergonomic. Instead the New 3DS XL is slightly bigger and heavier than the New 2DS XL and also has 3D, if you like 3D.
