start with simple weapons(boko clubs, travelers' swords), get hearts then stamina(that's just what i did, you do whatever you want with that one), use motion controls, get really really really good at the battle moves(perfect dodge, perfect guard), you WILL need them.

if you then proceed to tears of the kingdom, you will find that your botw knowledge carries over to it, so practice practice practice. a lot of people find the hardest monsters in the game frustrating, but for me, it's actually quite fun.

oh yeah, and try to complete the main quests, side quests, and shrine quests. your understanding of part of totk's story is dependent on you completing a side quest in botw. PLEASE TRY TO COMPLETE THE BASE GAME BEFORE STARTING ANYTHING IN THE DLC.

i could say more, but then i would be starting to give stuff away. you wouldn't want that, would you?

one more thing. after you get starter weapons(and more hearts and stamina), start defeating harder monsters to get better weapons. do this until you get the best weapons in the game(this is also dependent on choice. i like one-handed swords, but you might like claymores better.)
