3ds decided to set my region in system settings to japan for some reason

same happened to me :/ - if you have consistent region/language issues, set ur system language to something other than english (i.e. Spanish, French), shut down ur 3DS, turn it back on, switch back to english, restart ur 3ds again and that should fix a good portion of issues :D
