For the people who make Miis based on celebrities, when the real person dies do you keep the mii on your island or release them?

I have Iwata on my island still long after his passing, I haven't had the heart to erase him... Same will probably go for Miyamoto, Aonuma & Reggie once they leave this realm.
I think over half of the miis I have have been dead for so long... ones I was too young to even see alive!
