To clear things up: Yes I am trying to port android 1.6 to new 3ds consoles (and if I succeed I'll port an older version to old 3ds), this is not a joke.

Let me know if you succeed I'll be willing to test a build to see if it works if you get it built.

Its probly possible to port considering we have a bare bones Linux for the 3DS. I'd join your discord but I don't have a computer.

Android is basically a Linux for embed ARM devices, and that's exactly what the 3DS is, so it should be possible to recompile the kernel of Android 1.X/2.X for New3DS

btw i love this project, i already made a custom desktop environnement for Linux3DS and i think it would be cool to use the 3DS as a little phone, even though it wouldn't be very performant (at least i hope Wi-Fi will work^^)

@AlexBg I want the wifi to work as well and sdrw would be nice as too.

@Dr Glop SD/MMC read and write would be easy to implement : Linux on the 3DS already have it and it's a relatively simple protocol. But Wi-Fi... it's quite harder, even though ARM7 network drivers exists for the original NDS and could be ported

Everytime on 3DS Linux attempting to right to the fat partition fails if you have ext4 or ext2 it works but I don't have a Computer to edit my partition tables on my 3DS *shrug*

You're probably using a SD card too big, the Linux3DS SD driver is very rudimentary and only works with small capacities (like 4GB or 8GB cards), if you use bigger cards you will get buffer overread errors and I/O handler crashes
