Please go look up 'EU chat control' and 'UK online safety act'... There was no way we could avoid reading DMs at some point, legally. That would be terrible for all involved so we preferred axing the feature entirely. You still have time to switch to another app.

What privacy? The moderators from Miiverse literally had access to every single people's DMs sent to other people, which they can ban you from using it, if you are DMing someone that isn't the way you were supposed to.
