depends how cheap you can get one. they're really expensive right now and aren't really that worth the money, but if you really want to then i dont see why not. But 3DS's are overpriced partly due to modding. New 3DS XL's go for just under 400 dollars where i live

If you have enough money, get a 3ds. you can probably get a 2ds (which runs 3ds software) for under 100 bucks, and it has so much more than a ds lite, while still playing every ds game!

i'd say definitely go for a 2DS, they're cheaper and can run 3DS and DS games, you can find them for cheap on eBay
