Try installing Nimble from github.com/PretendoNetwork/Nimble/releases/latest into sd:/wiiu/environments/aroma/modules/setup. I had the same issue as you IIRC, and this worked a treat!
install nimble and it should work
nimble didnt work for me
Pretendo menu > Inkay > BOSS Settings > Unregister wara wara, then restart and launch splatoon
