I tried to edit my New Leaf file but somehow my town got deleted after making changes to my town. I followed the guide carefully and it's not too bad of an issue since I just started a new file. Anyone knows why this happened? I also saw other people with similar issues

which edit did you use? the PC one should work just fine
Aw, what a shame :( Good thing it was kinda new I have no idea for why it happened, I've used it like twice to swap villagers and it worked just fine, but I use the pc version and I always use checkpoint to backup the save! Hope this helps you somehow?
I also used the PC one. I created a save with Checkpoint, edited that on the website, saved it and replaced it with the new file then restored in Checkpoint. I just changed my villagers, maxed out my bells and rearranged my villager’s homes
