Storytime no one asked for : I had my first 2DS from 2013 to 2018. The reason it died ? The battery was bulging due to a faulty charging cable. And 12 year-old me thought it was a good idea to keep playing despite the battery almost leaking.

Yikes- That happened to my sister's phone when we went to Spain. It was so hot, and when she woke up, she found her phone in pieces, literally.
this reminds me of a time where I felt like my laptop was a tad too hot so I proceeded to place the entire thing in the fridge... Safe to say it stopped working

You can still play with it by taking the battery thing on the back (where your SD-card is) and charging it with your new 3DS, then putting it back in your old 3DS
But this will reset the top option in the activity log so it will be deletet what you played on what day because it resets the time of the console to 01.01.2011

Did you get rid of it? Because it's quite easy to fix a Spicy Pillow like that.
Just go and replace the battery
