can someone help? every app on my home menu (other than the pre-installed apps and DS games [including twilight menu]) dissapeared even though it didn't get deleted. I asked on reddit but got no help. does anyone know what to do? I'll check back in 30 minutes

also just in case it wasn't clear, even fbi and the homebrew launcher are gone. the only thing I can do is go on here or play some DS games
maybe some files got corrupted...
sounds like an sd problem. have you checked if the sd pins are scratched? if they are, replace the adapter if you use an microsd to sd adapter. if not, buy a new sd card. if youre lucky that the old one's data can be accessed, try to copy over the data.
no idea what happened but you could try installing faketik to get it back (available on github and MAYBE universal launcher, im not sure) its commonly used on hacked 3ds which recently had a data transfer as a way to get your homebrew apps back on the home menu, maybe it'll work
