I wonder how Juxt will comply with Australia's new social media rules lmao
Post
Not an endorsement btw, said rules are incredibly stupid but I am not explaining my reasoning / getting into that anymore here because that's pretty hot politically atm and I don't wanna light that fire too much
I wonder if they'd require some kind of ID check on the web or with a homebrew applet.... or maybe a better question is do we have a secure way to send ID through the native console internet browsers??
If we could do native cryptography, even if slow, then the answer is yes we can. Though the idea of that being developed for the... Wii U... and Old 3DS especially.... sounds painful af!!!
So I fully expect it'd be something like "go to the Pretendo website on your computer or phone to do age verification" if you try to use Juxt or Wii U Chat. But that's only if they both qualify as Social Media™... not sure how you could reasonably argue Juxt isn't lol
I say Wii U Chat because it's voice and video calling, which a lot of the social media apps that Australia had in their known banlist did implement... and they share an account system :P (Even off the list, companies can still get in trouble if they serve Australian users.)
Okay thread over I think that's all my autistic thoughts. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk
