Hey! you have to format your sd card to FAT32 it's a lil complicated but after the format just copy paste the files

okie dokie! now I used my phone to mod my 2DS, is it possible to format it on there? :)

it should be, just remember, the bigger the sd card, the longer your system will take to boot up

32 gb is the max without slow down, it doesn't effect it too much and not at all after boot

it may be kinda difficult depending on the phone, id recommend just getting a 32GB sd card cuz it has enough on it, its cheaper and you dont have to convert it! also i may be wrong but converting just reduces it to 32gb i think anyways, maybe? Hope this helps!! :]

@Liam 128GB is the max without slowdowns

Most phone models above S10 removed the microSD card slot. If you have an S10, you can use that for microSD card stuff.

you could just use an adapter

oh im aware of the boot time lol on my unmodded 3DS it takes a while for it to boot up lmao but honestly im not to bothered by it bc it just gives me more time to hit the penjamin XD

@j–will 32gb is the max with absolutely zero slow down, it becomes very slow at 128gb

anything above 256gb might not work(i am not sure) but it will work, might take a very very long time to boot though

For reference: I use a 128gb microsd card on my system but i don't mind the loading times at all. you forget about it after a hit of the penjamin honestly :3

So a 32 is good got it, and i dont have to do anything besides moving the files to that one :O ? just double checking bc im stupid lol

Yeah just move the files

@Liam 256GB and over will be more slow, while 128GB is little-to-no slowness.

i have a 128 gb sd and boot time isnt bad since i dont turn it on and off much. 30-45 seconds is usual, even leaving certain apps like settings takes a bit, i have around 40gb in use and a lot of games so 64gb is prob a good in the middle, but 128gb max bc otherwise its very slo

the only reason(to my knowledge) the 3ds slows down is becauseit reads the whole sd card before boot, this is why it still feels fast untill you install a lot of things

@j-will 128gb slows alot, 256 slows even more

i had a 32gb sd card but that was too small so i got a 256gb sd card. works fine. i didn't even think about slow loading times. i haven't paid attention to it, bc i didn't care. why would you care how long it takes to load?(unless it was like 6 hours. then it would be a problem)

Ok so I ended up buying a 128G sd card, do i need to format/convert or is it like the 32 where I can just move stuff on over? jeez it feels like im asking the same question over and over again im so sorry :') I swear this is the last one I promise

@Neco-Arc you need to format the sd card to FAT32 because it is over the 32gb auto format threshhold. Once converted to FAT32 you just need to copy the old sd card files to the new sd card and you should be good to go. I did the same thing from 4gb so don't worry about it :3
