I was for a minute, but the issue with federation is that control still rests in the hands of admins, some of which are more petty then the services they were ment to replace. Choosing an instance becomes a choice between disconnected islands with their own complex rulesets.

It's all just useless at a certain point. If all of these places are to be isolated filter bubbles moderated by obsessives, we may as well just return to tradition and all start our own blogs.
