The Retro Studios DKC games are the Sonic 4 of Donkey Kong Country in the sense that they‘re supposed to be a revival of the classic games but the physics are just wrong enough that everything feels off.

But at least Retro Studios DKC games you could see clearly that they were like a reboot of country similar to NSMBWii, not like Sonic 4 which Sega made it look like a big title and a highly anticipated sequel to Sonic 3 despite it being a mobile game lmao
I'd say returns is like that. Unlike Returns, Trops massively improved on the level design and level setpieces.
