Basicly all DS models are either hard or a nightmare to take apart and reassemble.

its possible but I probably wouldn't do it if your shell isnt broken.

the new 2ds xl is probably the hardest to reshell due to it being basically held by glue and i think clips. good luck

I heard its the hardest of the entire DS family, plus there are zero good shells or tutorials online, so I dont even bother looking for a white/blue shell.
