My 3DS is on version 11.16.0-49E and an update is available (target version not known by me); will updating my console delete all of my homebrew apps?

Make sure to update Luma to the newest version. But im not a 3DS expert so maybe double check
the latest update is 11.17. just make sure luma is up to date.
Luma3DS is on 13.3.3 so we should be safe
as long as you've installed or updated luma (your cfw) within the last few few years, you should be safe to update your system firmware
