Serious question: Between the Wii U and 3DS versions, which would you recommend? Switch ver. is not an option.

If you want more content. Play the 3DS version. but with the Wii U version you'll be able to play together with a friend. But with less content.

Also, The wii u version runs at 720p and 480p in multiplayer. 1080p isn't an option

Well, I don't exactly have any friends to play the Wii U version with, so 3DS it is.

I'd recommend the 3DS version 100%. All of the Wii U DLC is here for free and there's even exclusivities. A little turn around to the hshop for the new DLC and you basically got the Switch version!
