I like Ubuntu and shocker I like Unity DE even tho its a ubuntu only thing. maybe gross to some but feels like home to me because macOS

yeah unity requires some decent hardware to run well.

openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma. Also tried Debian, Ubuntu, Mint and Fedora with several DEs but didn't appeal much to me.

I dont have a dedicated GPU (yet) so KDE is too much for my archaic CPU

Actually, I'm on Debian (still KDE) now. My laptop suddenly got really sluggish overnight and installing a different distro helped. I think I'm going to stick with Debian now since it's not a rolling release and updates are released less frequently than on openSUSE Leap.
