While I haven't noticed the 3DS getting more popular in my small town, I do think it's one of the greatest consoles of all time. The game library is limitless. 3DS? Check. Original DS? Check. DSiWare? Weird flex, but ok.

And through Virtual Console, you gain access to GBA, SNES (for New 3DS systems), and the original NES. Still not enough for you? Try hacking your console and installing emulators to gain access to the N64, PS1, and many Sega consoles.

While we're on the topic of Homebrew, let's look at some great Homebrew apps: Pretendo is great because it restores online play to select games, as well as Miiverse (but you already knew all that). FourthTube is my favorite, since it's a YouTube client for the 3DS.

i still use my 3ds for reasons of nostalgia since its my childhood 3ds! and i also love the libary of games like tomodachi life, any kirby game, etc! not very detailed but why not share my thoughts?

There's also Anenome, which allows you to apply themes to your 3DS home menu, NetPass, which is basically StreetPass over the internet, and CTGP-7, a mod for Mario Kart 7 that adds new tracks, karts, wheels, gliders, and characters to the game.

All this and more available in full stereoscopic 3D, and it fits right in my pocket. (Sorry my posts were so detailed; I had to split them up into like five different comments!)

i bought this used about a year ago for the great game library, super mario 3d land mario kart 7 and the game that is WAY underrated, pilotwings resort. i dont think its getting more popular. pretendo definitely is with people realising their 3ds can be revived and made better

3d is always cool and sometimes useful but its great i have a portable emulator that can play every nintendo handheld before it and nes snes and super mario 64.

i seen videos on how easy the 3ds was to mod now. so i grabbed my old 3ds out my drawer (with some phineas and ferb stickers on it lul) and modded it!

obviously, because of homebrew, also for its great game selection and DS compatibility note: if anyone hasnt homebrewed their 3ds, you absolutely should

i did notice the 3DS has gotten more popular online! i'm unsure about irl. i think this is because some people seek out comfort and nostalgia in volatile times like right now–i live in the USA and a lot of us are scared, leading us to comforting things from a time when we [1/2]

[2/2] had less worries. thats my personal theory at least, just based off of my experience and how my loved ones feel. idk, theres just something nice about the 3DS that calms and connects ppl, and is also more accessible than a switch or PS5 for example (more $$$ in comparison)
