I feel like NL should be what the next game seeks guidance from. I feel like it's the best of both traditional and modern. I would like NL customisation, with the QOL NH brought to its customisation. GC villager dialogue would be a necessity too.

I want more social spaces in the next game too, since social interaction was such a pain to experience in NH. An area like the city from CF where players can hang out and shop would be cool

i agree i love the city area from city folk, its why its the best game vibes wise imo

I liked outside building but, and this may be a hot take, AC lost its soul when you had people building cities with 2000 patterns, terrain, and props. I hope the next game is a return to form with a more alive town like AC for GameCube and City Folk.

I agree. I honestly can't stand being able to customize every aspect of your town. I hate how NH traded every other aspect of the game for it. I feel like giving the player little control over their town made the past games more enjoyable and ¨real¨ in a sense

nl i think is a good base to start, your villagers still have some sort of character to them, they feel more like people than walking items, especially after the "villager hunting"

i just hope nh was their one-off completely customisable game, but i hope that nintendo makes it soon
