It saved mine as well, my 3ds was 9 years old and nearing its end of life.(it was crashing and super slow) then, i homebrewed it about 3 years ago and i stopped getting crashes and the preformance got much better.

This thing was halfway in the trash when i realized i could mod it and did so on the very same day
