mh4u is faster paced and easier but also has the most content of classic mh. mh3u is slower paced and harder but is also more rewarding and has probably the best stages.

if you only played new gen I'd say MH4U, but if you've already played some old gen games and want to try underwater combat then go with MH3U :D
