intersex is an umbrella term for somebody who was born with a body that isn't stereotypically male or female! there are many variations to the human body's set of parts, and being born as intersex is a lot more common than people think it is. one example could be someone [cont]

born with xy chromosomes, but they grow up with a female puberty and feminine appearance due to their body having an androgen insensitivity, meaning their body doesn't use the testosterone it makes to give them the usual male puberty/appearance. [cont]

being intersex is a lovely thing and shows that human bodies come in all shapes and sizes, but unfortunately a lot of people think those who are intersex need "fixing", and are often never told they are intersex and are unconsentually altered via surgeries :(

oh yeah, a good term to know alongside intersex is perisex! perisex is what somebody born with a "regular" body is. so if you are a perisex male, it means you body is... well. very masculine. i myself am perisex, but have a friend who is intersex, which is one reason i drew this!
