Having beat Earthbound a few days ago, I can see why people love this game. The story was weak imo, but the music and atmosphere really makes up for it. The final battle hit differently than it did a few years ago when I played it on GBA. I enjoyed my adventure, but i prefer M1&3

Of course this isn't to knock anyone down who likes EB/M2. I just think the plot loses steam halfway through the game. It does pick up toward the end. but throughout the middle, you forget why its important to collect the melodies. Granted it was even more obscure in M1.
Anyways, my point is EB is fantastic but has issues that can be hard to overlook, the enemy types in this game are more annoying. They cause annoying status elements that disrupt gameplay. plus some regular enemies can instakill. This also happened in M1, but its frequent in EB.
