my L button on my new 3ds XL is not working properly, i opened the console and cleaned the button,but it did nothing, BUT if i blow into the L button it does work for a little while, any ideas? :(

try ordering a whole new trigger
turn off your console, use some eletronic contact cleaner (or isopropyl alchol 90% or higher), click the button repeatedly for about 30 sec's and just let it dry :)
@becky11 thats not necessary; this happned with my console, and just cleaning the button made it work again
