perhaps try removing & reinserting the batteries? doing that seemed to resolve any glitchiness with pairing for me.
you can try cleaning the battery contacts with isopropyl alcohol (the higher the percentage the better). it dries quickly, so, remove the batteries, clean the contacts with isopropyl and let it dry for abt 30mins and you should be good to go
