okay so is there just actually no way to use a gamecube controller on vwii that isn't one of those wii remote adapters? bc that's the impression I'm getting but I wanna make sure nobody's got a magical solution I haven't seen

GameCube support is non-existent on Wii U's virtual Wii, unfortunately. the GCN controller adapter is there because many Smash Bros pleyers still want to stick to that controller type

In Wii games, no, you need to use a Wii Remote accessory port adaptor; mine's the white Mayflash one and isn't without issues :< However, you can use a USB adaptor to play GameCube games under Nintendont. Really though, I think both are adequate for most games anyway.

The problem is that Fakemote, being the only universal plugin for extended controller support, only supports DS3 and DS4, and is buggy at that. Since Wii Family Ed. and Wii U lack GCC ports, and games implement controllers on a case-by-case basis, that's sadly all you get.
