I think its because there not like the old ones (1-8)

I think because it is just so diffrent from the traditional mp formula that everyone loved. I think that if mp9 / 10 was someones first mario party, they would really like it. In the end they are just great games, that should be given a chance by more players

From someone who played 10 as their first mp game, It is strange how the mini-stars work. As most mp games use the traditional format of just coins and stars, 9 & 10 have a different win condition, and most people don't enjoy it because it's not what the mp games they're used to.
