mh3u only has local coop. there is a extremely small but active community for 3u emulation which allows for online coop! As for 4U, it does work online with pretendo on 3DS :)

This was my first monster hunter. It's older now but I still really like this one

i've beaten 4u but never fully finished 3u. im hoping that the online for 3u comes back at somepoint. i miss playing with people on here.
