I tried messing around with Linux on 3DS and reduce the amount of RAM as much as i could, and i managed to run the OS on 3ds with less than 8MB of total RAM (and barely 0 free bytes), altough it started to get unstable under 24MB

You got it to build?

The latest 3DS Linux runs with 2048K free

But its pretty broken overall.

No build, just manually remapping memory offsets with the DTB (but i think using bootargs could’ve been cleaner) But wait.. it does work with only 2MB? For me it didn’t boot when under ~6MB

Oh nevermind, you mean free mem, not total mem... (Mine ran with like 80K free)

It does work with 2mb but you have to make the zimage smaller if your gonna reverse engineer why not try to figure out why the f--king modern one won't mount rw or the old one freezes.

why not make the free memory and total memory at the best settings for preformance and maybe the build we use won't freeze when running long commands that are cpu and memory intensive and when you've got it in a nice spot release it on a seprate github thread? I'd be willing to

Try you're expermemts on my N3DS

theres a build with 9000K free too For a full distro why not try to make the free memory as high as possible?

But theres no need to increase memory, the normal build have around 122MB of free memory (even when using programs like fbge it still have more than 115MB free), so memory isn’t a big concern

I don't know what causes mine to freeze during tar and mkfs but its almost unavoidable doesn't matter the size of my SDcard it always happens :(

@Owi1Kenobi Bro i already got WINDOWS 11 BOOTING on a Wii through emulation, and for the 3ds i used Win98 a lot on it, but Linux is still the best
