I didn't play it a lot but I like it because it's a mix between Tekken and Pokemon and I like Tekken.

A good, cheap classic to start with would be Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. DO NOT buy Sun/Moon, they have WAY less content than their Ultra counterparts

imo it's absolutely peak but if you have a switch just get DX it has so much more bang for your buck

It is a non traditional pokemon game. Like others mention it ressembles Tekken or Smash Bros.
