GNU/Linux users: there's software in the works implementing an application that can work as the Wii U gamepad. I just reported one extra supported WiFi card. It's vanilla-wiiu/vanilla on GitHub. If Splatoon were up for me, I'd be playing with my laptop and a Switch Pro controller

interesting! remembered there was an app on linux that would act as a seperate gamepad for the wii u but only as a screen. glad to see some more projects of these type of things lol
