AtexBG I keep hearing about a 3DS Android port? What is it, and how will that work on such limited hardware? Would it be an actual OS, or smth more akin to the APK to Vita translation layer.

theres cyanogen3ds but thats just a ui on top of the 3ds fw, not really cyanogenmod. real android would probably stink on the limited ram of even the new3ds

I heard Atek say smth earlier but not sure. I know its basically impossible with the 3DS HW constraints

This is not MY idea, Android3ds is being developped by GamuCibe (this guy is crazy lol) and he will port an old android version to the 3ds

Linux is already ported to the 3ds (old and new) and it runs just fine, and even Windows 98 can run via emulation, but android may be slow because it's harder to port (but totally possible. (It will be a real OS)

The developper of it said he was gonna release it around the end of the year, and he will even port the Wi-Fi Android drivers to Linux3ds, which is something i can't wait to test lol

And about the hardware limitations, the 3ds have an ARM9/11 CPU at around 800MHz and 256MB of RAM, most phones/tablets from around 2010-2015 had about the same specs and Android could run smoothly

AtexBG just about summed it up, the release date may be later because I havent done heaps work with ARM or the 3DS before.
