thinking about buying a wii u, how much should a wii u cost for a ntsc–u model (us region) in usd? or how much did you buy yours for and when?

not sure about average price now but i got the mario maker bundle for full price back in 2015, theyre worth buying
If you want a cheap Wii U, look for Japanese Wii Us online, then region swap the thing (You won't need an external device anymore to region swap, just a PC).
im not an electrical expert so would a japan wii u work in the us with the us power system? id prefer not to region change and instead just get a ntsc-u model but if its a lot cheaper i would consider ut
