absolutely! i've been able to customize my system and play my physical games off of a USB drive thanks to homebrew. i can also swap the TV and Gamepad screens and use the controllers i want to use thanks to homebrew.

Yes - and the sooner you do it, the better. The Wii U's internal storage tends to get corrupted & fail over time, so homebrew it and set up RedNAND before that happens to you. (You *can* RedNAND a Wii U that's already corrupt, but you'll lose your data & it's more difficult.)
