I'm running out of space on my [32gb] wii u and i only have 3 games. you can get more storage with a pin/flas dive, but I think the usb sticks are ugly sticking out of the front of the wii u. are there any alternatives?

use a usb sd card reader, it might work
If you have a big SD card, look up SDUSB. It allows you to install Wii U games to the SD card without using a reader.
