Now I got you! :) If you could play Piano you would know where these notes are on the piano and you could play them and easily guess the piece ｯッﾂツ
There is no Pianist that can play La Campanella but doesn't know where the middle C on the piano is but if this Pianist really exist then he's probably on day 1 of Piano and he has to learn how to play with 2 hands first -_-
You stop to think for a second that anyone can learn an instrument without formal training as a hobby? Maybe not. But I play by ear, I never claimed to know whatever piece that is, nor how to play it. Neither have I claimed to be a master at it.
Just like guitar, I let the sound guide me. For you to claim I can't play an instrument without knowing sheet music is like saying I can't play a video game without knowing what a sprite is.
