just had an idea, but i cant code. what if you could scan an amiibo on an old 3ds with no extra accessories? maybe through the camera?

The old Skylanders 3ds portals used an infared light to detect the portal on the 3ds, the infared light is the black glossy strip near the L button on the 3ds. On the New 3ds XL model its inbetween the charging port and the ZL button. Maybe you could do something with that?
