As compelling as I find the idea of a higher power, I find it impossible to believe in a kind & loving one.
I can understand that, many people don't want to follow Jesus bc when bad things happen they think it's him, but nothing bad ever comes from Jesus. I know it's hard to believe and I don't blame you if you don't believe. Bad things will still happen when you choose to follow Jesus
, but they are all from satan, and I assure you that even when something happens that seems bad or unfair, Jesus can still make something good come out of it, you just have to trust Him.
A truly omnipresent & omnipotent god would have power over satan as well. God, if truly as powerful, good, & present as is claimed by abrahamic religion, would have say over whether or not there was a devil to begin with.
Ok, I understand where you are coming from, and I have thought the same thing before. If God is so good and powerful, why does the devil exist? well, if you think about it, it's pretty simple. If the devil didn't exist, and there was no bad, we would all be robots walking around
the earth with no freedom. God doesn't want us to live like that, he wants us to have personalites and make choices in life, and even though it feels terrible sometimes, it also makes you realize how much you need God to live. However, He isn't a being that controls everyone,
instead He WANTS to have a relationship with us. I don't have all the answers, thats just my take. Hope it was helpful :)
Back from a temporary ban, but I don't think that's love. Personality can be given without need for a devil or temptation. To believe otherwise is to believe that individuality is rooted in sin, IMO at least.
Welcome back! I apologize if I was not clear, that is not what I meant, however I can see how you interpreted it that way. Let me try to explain it a different way. Think about someone who goes to the gym and lifts weights. When they start out, it is very challenging, but over
time their body becomes stronger and it becomes easier. The same thing can be said about challenges and bad we face on this earth. They seem impossible, but you come out stronger in the end. So evil is actually a blessing, even though it is hard for everyone to think of it that
way. Also I want you to know I'm not trying to win an argument, I just want you to know about Jesus and give you a chance to follow him. Have a nice day!
