tbh I'm a fictionkin and I realized bc im LITERALLY this one character in EVERY way, even plot-wise (Yuri from Doki Doki Literature Club). Like even EVERYTHING she likes, does, says in the game, I'd do. That's how I found out! :)

other fictionkin guy here (hero of time kin) i think it depends on why. like is it an escapism thing or is it a "this suits me better" thing. like i wish i could be the hero of time sometimes but thats because its mire befitting, not because i wish i wasnt who i am now
for me personally it really just comes down to like, really seeing myself as a character also copinglinking (or anything with the -link suffix) is voluntary afaik, so do note that
