you need a file from the steam version to get it to work, otherwise it just crashes when trying to start it up.

Can't I just download it from Internet? Or it has to be bought legally?

you gotta buy it legally, its a product thats still on sale today, so pirating it would be more impacting then if the game wasnt available for sale anymore, so yeah you gotta get that steam version, or else no sonic mania 3ds, also i dont think this version supports dlc.
