I love this game but hate the fly swatter minigame. Everytime I get to the final boss the time runs out. Any tips on how to beat it? (I really want the costume)

My strategy is to target the yellow flies during the second round and for the final boss tap as fast as you can on the boss and only get the bombs when they are about to explode.
