it fully depends on what you prefer i personally have both and would highly recomend both to anyone cuz of the easy moddability and just overall game amount, gameplay time and modded customizability.

And im pretty sure all Wii U's come with a built in vWii (mine does) which is also extremely easy to mod and has great game variety (id recomend Mario Kart Wii CTGPR OR MKW Deluxe its a great community and great modded game you dont need the disc if you have a wdfs file btw)

1/3: IMO, you should get a Wii U as it has a lot of good games like SMM, Splatoon, sm4sh, Nintendo Land and N64/GCN/Wii support. It also has a cool controller that can act as a TV remote, aswell as being similar to a DS bottom screen (it even has DS VC).

2/3: However, if you don't have a 3DS already, I would strongly recommend getting a N2DSXL over a Wii U if you can. It can be used for streetpass, as a pedometer, has good games like SM3DL, LM2, TLOZ: LBW and MK7 that can be taken anywhere. However, 3DS prices have surged to $200

3/3: If you can get both systems and don't already have a 3DS, get them. If if you can't and don't have a 3DS, get the N2DSXL. If u already have a 3DS, then get a Wii U. I hope this helps you make a purchasing decision, friend :3

well also it depends if you like taking a console with you on a holiday or something because you can't take your wiiu gamepad out of your room but you can take your 3DS anywhere
