I was looking though the Minecraft 3DS codes in the .json and the options.txt theres a lot of mentions of realms and xbox I'm not wondering if online multiplayer was planned but never released.

Fun fact: The Wii U's files have this image of an early version of the System Settings. Some parts of it look closer to the 3DS's system settings, mainly the arrow buttons and Quit button.
