Tried with snaking then without, is snaking really slower in this version or am I just bad?

Just got some CRAZY third place pulls, first on big blue got a blue shell at the end of track when first and second had basically already crossed the line, then on yoshi circuit i got a BULLET right before the extension... crazy bro
