my TL save seems to be just fine!!!!! nothing bad has happened (yet)

will restoring checkpoint save data with a mod installed corrupt my save? i am incredibly anxious and not smart and i also don't want to lose ALL of my save data... i think i'll be alright but i've heard horror stories of people losing their saves with careless editing..........
